Latvian pharmaceutical company JSC "Grindeks" will invest into Quality Control Laboratory 1.6 million lats. 1.33 million lats out of total investments will comprises construction costs, but over 270 000 lats will be invested into modern analytical equipment.
The project will be performed in order to increase the capacity of microbiological laboratory, which is the Quality Control Laboratory unit, and to adapt to the new requirements in the pharmaceutical sphere.
After implementation of the project the area of premises of the Microbiological laboratory will comprise 250 square meters, but the total area of the Quality Control Laboratory will comprise 700 square meters. The modern automatic control system will be installed in the new laboratory, which will control the microclimate in the premises and work of engineering systems as well as will save energy resources.
By expanding the quality control possibilities "Grindeks" will provide analytical services also to other Latvian and foreign companies – analyses of pills, capsules, salves, syrups, injections, analyses of active pharmaceutical agents, as well as analyses necessary for technology and cleaning validation, and will provide control of pharmaceutical product series and release thereof in the European Union and in CIS countries.
The laboratory project is being implemented in several stages. It is planned to end the project in May 2014.
